- Description: Cades Cove is the most visited area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This 6,800-acre valley is located about 31 miles away from Pigeon Forge and is known for its beautiful landscapes. Here you can observe diverse wildlife as well as 19th century historic buildings that include churches and pioneer log cabins. Cades Cove has awe-inspiring forests are filled with trails exploring Abrams Falls, a picturesque waterfall with a 20-foot drop to a pool and stream below located on Abrams Creek. Take a nature trail hike to encounter the tranquility of the mountains and an array of photo opportunities along the way. The best way to experience all of this beauty is by taking Cades Cove Loop Road, an 11-mile, one-way, paved loop road. The path is open from sunrise to sunset year-round. On Wednesdays and Saturdays from early May to late September the road is closed to motor vehicles until 10 A.M. Every Saturday in December, the loop closes to cars until noon. During this time bicyclist and hikers can take a safe and quiet journey along this road experiencing the wildlife, nature and history of Cades Cove. - Description: At 6,643-feet tall, Clingmans Dome is the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Tennessee. Situated on the summit is an observation tower that offers expansive views of the Smokies. Views expand more than a 100 miles on clear days. Clingmans Dome is open year-round but the road leading to it is closed from December 1 through March 31 and whenever weather conditions require. Along the seven miles of Clingmans Dome Road there are scenic pullouts with endless views of ridges and valleys. At the road's end is a large parking area where a 0.5 mile trail leads up to the summit.

- Description: Be sure to visit the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, which is home to one of the largest and fastest flowing mountain streams in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This motor trail is six miles long, offering views of rushing mountain streams, old-growth forest and a number of historic buildings. The entrance to the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is near the Rainbow Falls parking area. The Grotto Falls trail head, another popular waterfall, is located along the loop. A must see is Rainbow Falls, an extraordinary 80-foot tall waterfall, also the highest waterfall in the Smokies. Grotto Falls is also in the Roaring Fork area, this 25-foot high waterfall happens to also be the only waterfall in the Smokies that you can walk behind.
